Music from the Heart Children's Orchestra (MHCO) ....
is a non-profit, 501-C-3 children's orchestra for ages 3-12, sponsored by a grant from the Utah Arts Council and the National Foundation of the Arts. We also received a grant from the Zoo, Arts, and Parks of Salt Lake County in 2006. We want good, dedicated players of violin, viola, and cello who have private teachers. Other instruments are welcome by audition, and parents who play may join in to help teach reading.

MHCO meets the last Saturday of each month at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3200 West/4615 South in West Valley City, Utah. 9:15-10:30 a.m. A TRAINING group of beginning violinists and cellists is available for BOOK 1 Suzuki Students. They are called "Young at Heart". ALL students must study with a private teacher.
Private teachers must agree to use the orchestra music as their reading assignment when concerts are being prepared. Students come to the rehearsals with music LEARNED through private lessons.

The orchestra is conducted by Susan Wilcox, with Natausha Despain as the assistant. Both have Bachelor of Music Education degrees, and are trained Suzuki teachers, members of SAU and SAA. They hold Suzuki GROUP LESSONS prior to orchestra for each individual instrument.
